About the Division
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) serves as the primary law enforcement agency for the rural and unincorporated areas of Madison County, Kentucky. Under the leadership of Sheriff Vacant, the department has transformed from a reactive, understaffed agency into a structured, disciplined, and professional organization. Known for his firm leadership and strong commitment to accountability, Sheriff Vacant implemented a clear chain of command and set the foundation on three core principles: integrity, consistency, and realism. Deputies are held to high standards in both conduct and performance, creating a culture that prioritizes quality policing, lawful enforcement, and building trust within the community.
The MCSO oversees operations including patrol, criminal investigations, traffic services, and K9, all guided by established Standard Operating Procedures and active supervision from command staff. Sheriff Vacant emphasizes training and development, ensuring all personnel are prepared through structured programs covering law, use of force, and field operations. While enforcement remains strict, it is fair, with deputies expected to maintain professionalism and respect in every interaction. Supported by an experienced leadership team, the department continues to grow and improve, maintaining a high standard and ensuring only dedicated individuals earn the privilege of serving Madison County.
Membership Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have no recent disciplinary actions or major violations within the community
- Must maintain a professional reputation and positive standing
- Must have a working microphone and be able to communicate clearly
- Must have access to and actively use TeamSpeak during all patrols
- Must have a basic understanding of roleplay standards (FearRP, NLR, etc.)
- Must be willing to follow the Chain of Command at all times
